AnSem delivers ISO26262 compliant automotive IC building blocks
The trend in automotive industry towards ever more electronic control of all mechanical components is pushing the need for miniaturization of controller systems in cars. These systems need to monitor multiple parameters in harsh environments where large temperature fluctuations and electromagnetic interferers are everywhere. On top of that the requirements for extremely high passenger safety lead to stringent specifications and demand for fail-safe performance in all conditions. These requirements are grouped in the ISO 26262 standard which must now be met by all automotive products.
AnSem participated in the development of an automotive ASIC by designing multiple sensor interfaces, monitoring and wake up circuits. Multiple safety functions were implemented to keep track of any kind of malfunction of the external sensors. To meet the functional safety standard as well as the AEC-Q100 qualification standard, all functionality was qualified for 6-sigma performance. The design was executed in a proprietary 130nm BCD technology.
After its successes in the communication, medical and industrial markets, AnSem now also combines it advanced IC circuit design skills with its high quality design methodology to deliver its services to the automotive semiconductor market.
