AnSem's expertise in Software Defines Radio (SDR)
Over the years, AnSem has grown into a center of excellence for RF CMOS Design.
Lately AnSem has built up experience with Software Defined Radio design techniques which allow multi-mode and multi-frequency transceivers with a wide frequency range, a reprogrammable radio bandwidth and fast switching synthesizers.
AnSem’s focus in SDR is on the RFIC integration and the Converters.
SDR macro cell library
AnSem has the following comprehensive macro cell library available which it can use in any customer project:
- Wideband LNAs and mixers with a frequency range from a few hundred MHz to 6GHz
- Wideband PrePower Amplifiers up to 6GHz with a high output power and high linearity to accommodate OFDM signals with a large PAPR and with a constant impedance over frequency
- Reconfigurable analog baseband filters up to 20MHz
- Variable Gain Amplifiers
- Frac-N synthesizers including fully integrated VCOs with a wide frequency range
- D/A and A/D converters with a scalable resolution and sampling rate
AnSem - IMEC partnership
AnSem has a strategic partnership with IMEC for the transfer of Scaldio IP to customers. Scaldio is the code name for IMEC’s SDR RFIC developments. AnSem is the preferred design partner which can tailor Scaldio to the product requirements of the customer and provide production services.
IP demonstrators
Two IP demonstrators are available. Both are true software-defined radio IP cores with a proven silicon performance.
Scaldio integrates a 1x1 SiSo FDD/TDD transceiver with a frequency range up to 6GHZ, a reconfigurable radio bandwidth up to 20MHz and comprehensive provisions for power consumption management.
The second one integrates a 2x2 MiMo TDD transceiver with a wide frequency range up to 4GHz and a reconfigurable radio bandwidth up to 20MHz. It is fully reconfigurable through a standard SPI interface.
