Analog and Mixed-signal IC Layout Engineer (BE)

Job summary

The full layout flow from the initial layout floor planning until tape-out will be your domain. As part of one or more IC design teams you will work closely with the other members of the team under the supervision of the project leader.

Key responsibilities

  1. Translates a sub block design to a dense physical layout taking into account electrical and mechanical design rules.
  2. Shares layout experiences with other LE and/or design teams of the company.
  3. Contributes to the achievement of the quality objectives as stated in the quality policy of AnSem.

Design & Layout

  • Performs layout and takes corrective actions in such a way that the final result meets all requirements as stated in the Design document, section layout, including all remarks from review, the customer and backannotation.
  • Performs layout in such a way that the final result meets all general layout guidelines and matches 1-to-1 with parameter devices and hierarchy used in simulations.
  • Performs DRC and takes corrective actions if needed until DRC is error free
  • Performs LVS and takes corrective actions if needed until result is successful
  • Performs layout in such a way that final result meets the foundry layout rules.
  • Provides extracted netlist for backannotation to DE as specified in the Design document, section layout.
  • Translates sub block schematics to sub block layouts, taking care of the same hierarchical build-up and respecting the guidelines of the Block review document, section layout.
  • Adds extra useful information to the Block review document, section layout.

Reporting & Communication

  • Documents layout
  • Reports proactively progress and slippage of assigned tasks to project leader.
  • Fills in weekly time sheet form including planning, comments and remaining work.

Job Requirements

  • Master or Bachelor in Electrical Engineering.
  • Good knowledge of analog electronics is a must.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing technology and layout expertise are a plus.
  • Ability to create the detailed floor plan of the total ASIC design is a plus.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages like Python, C, Tcl is considered an asset.
  • Experience with layout generation, DRC, LVS, … and/or experience with Cadence or Tanner is a plus.
  • You are known to be analytical, pro-active and customer oriented, discretion is your middle name
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English are mandatory.
